Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Ultimate Tipping collects, uses, stores and shares information when you use our website and iOS app (together, the Service). By using the Service, you understand that we will handle your information as described here.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information.
- Account information, such as your email address, username or display name, and authentication credentials and login metadata.
- Sign-in provider information, if you use Sign in with Apple or Google. We receive identity data needed to authenticate your account (for example, a provider identifier and, depending on your settings, your name or email address).
- App usage and league or tipping data, such as leagues you create or join, tips or confidence selections you submit, and leaderboard and related competition data.
- Support communications, information you provide if you contact support.
- Technical and session data, such as session cookies or tokens needed to keep you signed in, and basic request metadata needed to operate and secure the Service.
How we collect information
- From you, when you register, sign in, create or join leagues, submit tips, or contact support.
- From sign-in providers, when you choose provider login (Apple or Google).
- Automatically, when you use the Service (for example, session and basic request metadata necessary for operation and security).
How we use information
We use information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Authenticate sign-in and maintain sessions
- Provide app features (tipping, leagues, standings, reminders)
- Sync your data between app sessions or devices where applicable
- Respond to support requests
- Protect service integrity, prevent abuse, and debug failures
- Comply with legal obligations
What other users can see
If you participate in leagues, other members of those leagues may be able to see information needed for the competition to function, such as your display name, your tips or selections, and leaderboard results.
Notifications
Ultimate Tipping currently uses optional local notifications for round reminders. You can enable or disable reminders in-app and you can also manage notification permissions in iOS Settings. Notifications are not required for core app functionality.
Local device storage
The iOS app stores limited information on your device to support normal app behaviour:
- Keychain, session token or cookie metadata for persistent sign-in
- UserDefaults, notification reminder preferences and cached lightweight session info
- App database or cache, match, tipping, and related app data for performance and offline behaviour
You can remove local app data by deleting the app. Account deletion is separate (see below).
How we share information
We do not sell personal information.
We may share information only as needed with:
- Service providers that help us operate the app and backend (for example, hosting, authentication, infrastructure, and email delivery).
- Identity providers when you choose provider login (Apple or Google).
- Legal or regulatory authorities where required or permitted by law (for example, to respond to lawful requests).
Overseas disclosures
We may use service providers who store or process information in Australia and or overseas. Where we disclose personal information to overseas recipients, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in a way that is consistent with this Privacy Policy. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information we hold from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to maintain appropriate safeguards.
Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, operate and secure it, and meet legal and accounting obligations. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete it or de-identify it.
Your choices and account deletion
- Notifications, you can turn reminders on or off in-app and in iOS Settings.
- Account deletion, you can request account deletion in the app via Account -> Data and privacy -> Delete account. You can also contact us to request deletion.
Access and correction
You can request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you by contacting us. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Complaints
If you have a privacy complaint, contact us with details of the issue. We will review and respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be able to raise your complaint with the relevant privacy regulator.
